Matukituki Valley-Mt. Aspiring National Park

The road to Mt Aspiring National Park from Wānaka follows the lake past rolling farmland and through the wilderness of Matukituki Valley.

Leaving Wānaka and heading past Glendhu Bay – a favourite Kiwi camping spot – the high mountains and glaciers of Mt Aspiring National Park come into view.

Continue past rocky outcrops, remnants of ancient glaciers and onto a graveled road, past farmland to follow the Matukituki River upstream into epic views of glaciers, mountain peaks, tussock grasslands to the end of the road at Raspberry Creek and the DOC car park, where tramping access into Mt. Aspiring National Park begins.
