Volunteer: Cardrona River Cleanup

Day: Thursday, December 19th
Time: 9am – 11am
Location: Cardrona River Bridge (off of Ballantyne road past Wastebusters – look for the WAI flags)

WAI Wānaka is headed back to the Ōrau / Cardrona river for a clean-up event! Last time (June 2024), WAI + volunteers collected over 1 tonne (1000+kgs) of rubbish along the river.

Help take care of our waterways and collect valuable data on the pollutants that persist throughout our community by coming along to this volunteer event – all welcome.

Rubbish will be sorted and recorded in the national Litter Intelligence database.

What to bring:

– Gloves
– Weather appropriate clothes
– Sturdy footwear
– Water bottle
– Friends and whānau

Tea and coffee provided, and we’ll wrap the session with a shared BBQ and a cold drink.
