In the world of retail, fabulous doesn’t even begin to describe Brydon Smallbone of 47 Frocks in Wānaka and Lizzy Wallace-Gibbs of Wallace & Gibbs and Goals in Queenstown. If you need help checking things off your shopping list… you’ve come to the right place.

Let’s be honest, shopping comes naturally to some and for others… not so much. But when it comes to finding everything on your shopping list, we’ve enlisted the fine ladies Brydon Smallbone of 47 Frocks in Wānaka and Lizzy Wallace-Gibbs of Wallace & Gibbs to help you out.

So you need to buy a gift for a friend or family member? Let’s turn it over to Lizzy and Brydon. Where is your favourite place to pick up something beautiful for a special someone?

BSGifted on Helwick Street covers everyone, while I love the jewellery collection and art at Gallery 33. Check out the Wonder Room on Ardmore Street for some great cards. And if you’re really stuck, a facial gift voucher from Pure Skin Therapy.

LWG: I love Redcurrent, located at The Landing, Frankton. They have gorgeous wallets, bags, accessories and an array of yummy smelling candles!

What about homewares? Where should we go to find something that perfectly fits into a mountain abode?

BS: I love the Workroom and Tussocks, both located in downtown Wānaka.

LWG: The Barn, on Hansen Road (located next to Buzzstop Honey Centre & Café in Frankton) is a hidden gem! Beautiful bohemian style furniture and décor and cute fashion accessories and gifts as well as kids clothes.

We’re all about supporting local and this region has some incredible designers. Where should we go to source some clever creatives?

BS: Definitely Wilson and Dorset. I also love Common People. It’s also worth a stop in to Wānaka’s newest shop, Revology for some beautifully sustainable products. Go for a walk around the block and pop in to all three!

LWG: Remarkables Market! Every Saturday, located on Hawthorne Drive, Frankton. It offers local and regional goodies for everyone. A combination of seasonal food, artisans, collectables, performers and more.

Clothes, clothes, clothes. Let’s hear it, where do you go to buy a gorgeous outfit?

BS: 47 Frocks, of course! That said, we have some really amazing fashion options in Wānaka, so if 47 Frocks doesn’t have it, try DevalEscape or Bella.

LWG: Well we have such a range of brands and styles across our six stores, so I don’t really shop anywhere else! Ikon is my personal favourite, the majority of my fashion wardrobe and accessories come from Ikon, or when I want to be more casual I get my leisurewear and activewear from Goals.

We all know shopping is great cardio… where’s your favourite spot to rest the legs and refuel?

BS: In the AM, my coffee and morning snack go-to is Federal Diner or Relishes. From mid-day, Maude bubbles at the tasting room, located on Golf Course Road. And in the evening, Cork in town.

LWG: Slow Cuts in Arrowtown is my personal favourite. Their gourmet burgers, slow cooked meats and delicious salads are my go-to! I love the atmosphere and when the occasion calls for it, they do great in-house craft beer on tap and yummy cocktails.

Last one, besides Wallace & Gibbs, Goals and 47 Frocks, what’s your go-to shop on either side of the Crown Range?

BS: I always check out Angel Divine when I’m in Queenstown. I also have a problem with shoes (like, way too many of them!), so I’ll check out Issimo.

LWG: Deval Boutique in Wānaka. I want to buy everything in there! The fashion and accessories are so on trend and gorgeous and the store design and fit out is stunning

Lizzy Wallace-Gibbs is the family representative of Queenstown retail gems Wallace & GibbsGoals and Ikon. Brydon Smallbone is the brilliance behind 47 Frocks boutique in Wānaka.
